The Indi Dive Trip to Bohol, the Philippines

On Sunday, 10 March 2024

We are staying and diving for one week on the beautiful tropical island of Bohol in the Philippines.

Bohol is situated in the Central Visayas region and is home to world class diving, and the famous Chocolate Hills, a one-of-a-kind geological formation which attracts tourists from all over the world. Bohol boasts stunning white-sand beaches and warm, clear diving sites with very diverse marine life.

We will be diving with Alona Divers, a PADI Resort, which was established on the island in 1996. Alona Divers has comfortable dive boats, and experienced staff with extensive knowledge of the local dive sites.

We will be staying in top quality accommodation at the Best Western Resort on Alona Beach, where you can relax by the pool, on the beach, or in their seaside garden. There is a rooftop deck where you can take in the views whilst enjoying a meal or a cocktail. There are plenty of accommodation options, and a fitness centre at the hotel. The hotel is one minute’s walk from the dive resort.

There are a variety of dives to suit all levels of diver from easy dives around local reefs coated in soft corals and teeming with rich marine life, to deeper dives at Balicasag Island, where there is a chance of encountering whale sharks and hammerhead sharks. The dive sites off Pamilacan Island are remarkable and you can see tuna, snapper, groupers, with a chance of encountering dolphins and pilot whales.

For the non-diver, there is plenty to see and do in and around Bohol. Take a tour to the Chocolate Hills by land or hot air balloon, take a wildlife and river tour to see the Phillipine Tarsier, a small, entirely carnivorous primate which can leap distances of up to 5.4 metres. Go island hopping, take a trip to the Mahogany Forest, Baclayon Church, the Loboc River, the Cathedral of San Jose, or head out to Can-umantad Falls.

There are many ways to get to Bohol. We have set out our itinerary below with optional stopovers in Manila. You are welcome to follow this or plan your own itinerary to suit you.
